Does getting stronger help us to grow more muscle size in future?

“I’m training for muscle building so I didn’t need to get stronger. It’s all about volume bro!” So, we have gone full circle from thinking that heavy weights are needed to build muscle to the complete opposite view they aren’t and you can build muscle with light weights. So what is it? Has strength got a role to play here? Does getting stronger help us to grow more muscle size in future?
