If your back feels stiff, is it really?

“My back is really stiff! I need a massage!” Now your back feels stiff but is it really? Wait, what I don’t understand? Feeling stiff obviously isn’t normal but can you objectively get a stiff back or not meanings feeling tight or stiff a sensation or can it be objectively measured?
