What are the benefits of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise for neck pain?

They just gave me exercises or they didn’t give me any exercises to do. So, unfortunately, the inconsistency of therapists out there is vast and this is why I hear these statements on a daily basis. So, in my opinion, a balance of both is needed but the balance depends on the individual but what does the evidence say on this? What are the benefits of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise for neck pain?
