Is allowing your knees to pass your toes a bad idea in exercise?

“It hurts when I do this, so I have stopped doing it”. This is a common thing that people do but this can be the wrong approach. For example, if somebody has knee pain when they squat and when doing activities such as walking down the stairs then avoiding these activities will seem to help initially. This is because pain drops due to avoidance but this is not going to make your injury stronger and more resilient and it certainly won’t get you to be pain-free with stairs and squats. So what should you do? This video discusses the principles of loading joints into positions that they need to get into in life and in particular, loading into lots of knee past your toes positions. Many people think this is harmful but is allowing your knees to pass your toes a bad idea in exercise?

Online Physiotherapy

Put simply this is Physio done via either telephone or video over the internet. Skype and facetime are examples of this.

Contrary to popular belief online physiotherapy can be very effective and it can help the same injuries that face to face physio can help. I have helped many people with injuries such as disc prolapses, tennis elbow, neck pain and much more).
