Sleeper stretch

This is an instructional video to correctly demonstrate Sleeper stretch.

Step by Step

  1. This is a good exercise people with a tight posterior shoulder capsule
  2. Like any exercise you should only do the exercise if it is pain free during, after and the next day.
  3. Lying on your side, flex the shoulder that you are lying on to 90 degrees and bend the elbow to 90 degrees also.
  4. Next actively push your hand towards the floor and towards your feet with the palm facing down.
  5. Use you other hand to apply a slight pressure on your hand to give an extra stretch if needed.
  6. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds
  7. Repeat for the other side.
  8. You should aim to perform this stretch between 4-6 times daily
